Descendants of George Mason
Born in Pershore, England, 1629
Died in Virginia, 1686

Welcome to the Mason family genealogy, sponsored by Gunston Hall Plantation, home of George Mason (1725-1792), the great-grandson of the American immigrant, George Mason (1629-1686). Actively begun in the 1960s by the Regents of Gunston Hall, this genealogy project was originally conceived to help tract down possible documents and artifacts that were connected with Gunston Hall. Leadership of this project was assumed by Pamela C. Copeland and she directed document research and began extensively corresponding with descendants. In 1975 she published her research on the first five generations as The Five George Masons: Patriots and Planters of Virginia and Maryland. Since that time we have continued to add numerous individuals, branches, and generations to the Mason genealogy charts. We strive to make this information as up-to-date and accurate as possible. If you have corrections or additions we would appreciate hearing from you. It is our strict policy not to publish online personal information on living individuals.

The George Mason Memorial Society is an independent organization of descendants who sponsor a family reunion at Gunston Hall. The last reunion was in June 2004. If you are interested in being a member or being on the family mailing list, please contact us here at Gunston Hall.
