Cancelled: 18th-Century Game Night

February 21 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$25 – $35

Due to unforseen circumstances this event has been cancelled.

What’s better than a game night at home? A game night at historic Gunston Hall! Letters, journals, and even existing game pieces can tell us a lot about the games they played in George Mason’s lifetime. 18th-Century Game Night is your chance to experience the predecessors of games we still play today while enjoying good food and good company.

Players will be able to experience a wide variety of card, dice, and board games throughout the evening. Come give each game a whirl, or settle in at a table and become a master at one. Because no game night is complete without snacks, enjoy a selection of 18th-century finger-food and drinks.

Don’t know how to play? Game masters will teach you the rules and can serve as opponents! They’re also happy to talk about the history of gaming and how the games in your collection today relate to those played by Mason and his guests centuries ago.
