DESCRIPTION:This event is located at: George Washington Presidential Library \n\n\nJoin us for lunch and a compelling discussion with Dr. Kate Steir and Zoie Horecny\, as they share insights into an unpublished 1768 letter from George Mason to George Washington. The previously unknown letter was discovered earlier this year and features a reply in Washington’s hand dated 1789. \n\nThis historic piece of correspondence\, which will be on display during the event\, sheds unexpected light on the private dealings and quiet tensions of these neighbors\, while adding a new dimension to the complex personal and political relationship that existed between these two Founding Fathers. The Washington Library will also display documents from its collection which illustrate this historic relationship.\n\nThis event is part of the Washington Library’s Lunch at the Library series.
