Daniel Ruggles

     Served in the Seminole Campaign 1839-1840. Was in the Mexican American War, 1844-1846. Served with the Utah occupation force, 1858-1859. Was a Brigadier General Confederate Army, 1861-1863; Major General 1863-1865. Daniel was born at Barre, Massachusetts, on 31 January 1810. He was principal between 1829 and 1833 when an unknown person was a student. School: West Point Military Academy. He married Richardetta Barnes Mason Hooe in 1837. Daniel died on 1 June 1897 at Fredericksburg, Virginia, at age 87.¹ He was buried after 1 June 1897 at Fredericksburg Confederate Cemetery, Fredericksburg, Virginia.
