Richard was born at Effingham Co., Ga., on 28 December 1818.¹ He was baptized on 24 April 1819 at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Ebenezer, Ga.. He married Anne Mary Shuman at Beaufort District, S.C., on 16 August 1849. He married Mary Rosa Blount in 1865. Richard died on 19 January 1880 at age 61. His body was interred after 19 January 1880 at Scotia, S.C., at Lebanon Cemetery.
