Sam Lebovic is Professor of History at George Mason University, where he teaches broadly in the history of U.S. politics, culture, civil liberties, and foreign relations, and also serves as co-editor of the Journal of Social History.  He is the author of three books, including the award-winning Free Speech and Unfree News (2016) and State of Silence (2023), which was named a best book of 2023 by the New Yorker and was a finalist for the ABA’s Silver Gavel Award.
