Fitzhugh Lee
M, b. 19 November 1835, d. 28 April 1905
Appointed by Pres. Cleveland as Consul General to Cuba. Military Gov. of Havana after Spanish-American War. Was serving as the President of the Jamestown Exposition (of 1907) at the time of his death. His common name was "Fitz". Fitzhugh was born at "Clermont", Fairfax Co., Va., on 19 November 1835. Fitzhugh received a military promotion at Va. on 3 September 1863. He married
Ellen Bernard Fowles at Alexandria, Va., on 19 April 1871. Fitzhugh was elected at Va. in November 1885. Fitzhugh received a military promotion on 5 May 1898. Fitzhugh died on 28 April 1905 at Washington, D.C., at age 69. He was buried after 28 April 1905 at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Va..
