Description
This Gunston Hall scarf project was initiated by the scarf committee of the Board of Regents of Gunston Hall Inc. This design was inspired by ideas from a former regent and the final design was created by Margaret Goldman, a graphics designer. She is a descendant of George Mason and a member of NSCDA-Virginia. The scarf was produced by Grand Isle Ties of New Jersey which is owned by Maureen Heilmann. The design incorporates the mansion itself, George Mason’s coat of arms, his signature as well quotes from him. It also shows trees and flowers from the grounds and includes architectural elements from the mansion.
The fabric is a modal blend.
