Bill of Rights Day

You may know the Bill of Rights are the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution.  Creating the Bill of Rights wasn’t smooth sailing.  Many founding fathers disagreed on the basic need for a Bill of Rights.  George Mason and James Madison were two of the people at the center of the discussion.

Join staff members from Gunston Hall and Montpelier on the 231st anniversary of the Bill of Rights to learn more about how this fundamental piece of American history came into being.
